InactiveHiya,
So I am looking into caracream max and the other products and noticed it can only be used with omeprazole 20mg. We are on omeprazole enteric coated tablets 10mg – twice daily. I take it that means I can’t use it then? Or can I use two tablets or something simple like that??
God I hope so! I sooo need something to work for us!

Have emailed them to ask but given that its easter, i mightn’t get a reply in awhile…
Anyone know??

KeymasterI don’t know about caracream max, I would contact http://www.refluxsolutions.com ? http://www.bufferbabies.com ?

InactiveYep! Its one of their products! Dr P recommended it.
Marci kids did come back to me and I’ve been chatting to them. I have to get a script for capsules and apparently they fulfill orders for other Aussies so I’m hoping it won’t be hard to get capsules. Strange they dont prescribe the capsules to begin with so we don’t have to muck around dissolving the coating with the tablets. Weird.
Now I just have to figure out how to convince my paed to let me try the cc max, give a script for the capsules and increased dose. That will be really tough as she was against 20mg – what we are on now. I’ll only have 5min on the phone at best with her so I’ll need to be right to the point.
Fingers crossed. I’ll be calling her tomorrow.
Thanks again again for your help!
Deb

Keymasterok I would not necessarily tell paed about the caracream max, as it’s not a medicine and, well, you can always tell her LATER, after you LOVE it
as for asking for the capsules- I would just TELL paed that you want a switch in the form-if questioned, just sigh and say you’d like to just try it, anther form can’t hurt, right? if paed will not, well DEMAND. it should not be a big deal…if all else fails, blame your husband or your in-laws, LOL!just say your mother in law has a friend who’s grandbub used the capsules and she won’t STOP and PLEASE can you just have the capusles???

InactiveBut how do I explain the increased dose? I’m on 10mg tabs and I need to get 20mg capsules, plus the amount I’m giving him increases.
I thought about not mentioning the caracream, but what if there’s something in there that makes him really sick?
I would prefer to be upfront I guess.
Also I have to pay by cheque to reflux solutions?! It’s going to take ages to get the stuff! I don’t use cheques so it’ll be a case of getting something issued from the bank, posting over to the US, waiting for it to clear and then waiting for the product.
Bubs us already refusing food and last night he refused one of his o/night feeds – which are normally his best.
This just sucks!

Keymasterreally there shouldn’t be anything in the caracream to make him sick- I’ve been on the board just about 8 years now and haven’t heard/read anything dramatic/horrible/terrible or even negative, for that matter.
as for the dose increase, dr philips can email your paedif dr won’t go for it there was another mum from aus and she went to a GP and that dr was willing to read/research and dose according to marci-kids/dr pas for check- do you have paypal?can you paypal it?April 27, 2011 at 12:41 pm #68276Anonymous
InactiveYou can use the Caracream Z instead of Caracream Max. That uses Zegrid which is omeprozole with some caracream already in it. If Zegerid isnt offered over the counter in Australia yet, you can order it online. I used caracream with prevacid for 18 months and then swithed to caracream z with Zegrid for a year. Both are as equally amazing. The Caracream Z with Zegrid was just cheaper and easier.
