(Prilosec) suspension – what strength is it generally made, mg/ml? I’m currently using Losec and mixing it up with Caracream for my 3 yr old, it is working well but VERY hard to get in to her. The suspension I make makes it into 2mg/ml, so she has to take 10mls a day for her 20mg dose. She hates the taste, so I have to add a little choc. syrup to it before I give it, then she ends up with a lot more to swallow which causes quite a fight. I’m going to try the Losec suspension from a compounding pharmacy, and just wondered what to expect.

Also, anyone ask for the flavouring on the side (instead of pre-mixed)?

I take my Zegerid in Chocolate milk. Can you get her to drink some chocolate milk for you? I don’t know about the compound but I would think you could give that to her in chocolate milk too.

personally i dont think you are going to have more luck with compounded losec than you will with caracream. i think it will taste even worse.

anyhow i got instructions on how to mix losec with caracream from marci kids and i must say i am disapointed that it only makes a 2mg/ml suspension. that means i will have to fight to get 5 ml at a time into him 🙁
