Thanks Amy for that info. I actually don’t think I need it now. I rechecked marci-kids dosing calculator & he already needed a dosing increase… so since I’ve done that he’s had 2 great days in a row (fingers crossed). I felt comfortable increasing since (like I said before) his diapers seemed to be fine. So I’m glad I didn’t stop the Zegerid w/ Tums b/c it seems like it WAS still reflux pain. I’ll probably increase his dose again next week as he’s approaching 2 mths old & his range increases then too.

Tracy… if her diapers are getting worse then I would probably discontinue unfortunately. But if it’s not that bad then maybe stick it out another few days?! I’m so sorry…

Did you read about the completely hypoallergenic calcium carbonate? It’s a third mixing alternative for zegerid.

Maybe switching to Buffer Babies would be better for her??

I emailed Dr. P today and he thought we should up her dosage to 5 mL. So I did that this afternoon and we’re hoping to see some changes soon. I forgot to add that she has been on Neocate since Friday and I’ve been pumping. I gave her 1.5 oz of breastmilk yesterday and she woke up with a rash on her face like Addy used to get. So, we’re sticking with the Neocate…not surprised, but disappointed. So that could be the cause of loose stools today. I am going to stay with the Tums/Zegerid for a few more days. Gosh, I hope this works! If not, I’ll give the calcium carbonate a chance…I saved the link from another post. Thanks for reminding me. 🙂 Thanks for listening to me vent, ladies!
