refusal to eat….ng tube put in..what next?

No idea what is to come next ???? Just leaving hospital after a week with ds who had completely refused to bf. Ng tube has been put in and mixing elecare (24) with breastmilk. The question I have is…..has anyone dealt with their Lo refusing to eat, and how long did it take them to get back into normal eating patterns?

FYI ds is 3 mos old ebf and currently on protonix & azithromycin

Upper gi shows reflux…..swallow study shows no aspiration.

Baby also refuses anything but the breast to eat , bottles r the enemy apparently 🙂

I would also make sure that protonix dose high enough! The following chart doesn’t have protonix, but look at the other meds: prevacid, prilosec & nexium – average the doses out to get an idea…

Oh wow! That all sounds miserable! 🙁 I’m so sorry your little guy is suffering so much!

My first 2 children suffered from severe reflux and food intolerances and although my oldest son ate all the time, he barfed so much that he didn’t gain weight and was labeled Failure to Thrive!
