InactiveDoes anyone celebrate the Jewish holidays and have any good recipes to share? I’m having the dinner at our house this year, and my kind siblings have dumped most of the cooking on me. I’ve got the majority of the menu down, but I need a good chicken recipe. My mom’s chicken was never great, and mine is generally even worse. Any ideas for a non-dairy chicken recipe would really help. I also need a recipe for tzimmes, if anyone has. I’ve found a few on the internet, but don’t know if they’re any good or not (and since I don’t like it, I don’t want to have to taste it!).

InactiveHappy Rosh Hashana to you. I have a swt potatoe pie recipe and also one with swt potatoes and apples.
I also have a good chicken recipe w/ apricot jelly which is pretty good, made with cutlets but can adapt to 8 piece cup up chicken too. For recipes, check out ou.org website.September 3, 2007 at 4:49 pm #42117hellbennt

Inactivei never follow recipes, but the enchanted brocoli forest or the moosewood cookbook (one or the other) has a great tsimmes recipe that i kind of elaborate on…its great without the chicken or meat hosting it…orange juice, lemon rind, tons of cinnamon and raisins (plus carrots, sweet potatoes, apples, and onions). my mom also makes it with winter squash instead of sweet potatoes. hth.
