(May be the dumbest topic ever, but…)
Originally, the only socks I could find that would not slide off of Ethan’s feet were made by Carter’s (purchased at Sears or JC Penney). They were cuffed, came in six packs, (most) had little appliques on the sides, and they never, ever fell off of his feet. After that, I purchased three nearly identical sets of socks from Target, only in a larger size. Those were “Just One Year” socks, which I believe are also made by Carter’s. Neither set of socks I mentioned come in a larger size and Ethan has outgrown them. Now, every type/Brand of sock I buy him slides off of his feet all day long. I realize this is not an uncommon problem with babies and toddlers, but I have to believe there are socks out there that won’t do this, given I was able to find ones from Carter’s that worked. Does anyone have any recommendations on socks that won’t slip and slide around?

February 19, 2006 at 10:13 am #1896AnonymousInactiveGap socks seem to stay on very well. I read in a magazine they stayed on well so I put them on my Aiden’s christmas list and they seem to really do the trick!
February 19, 2006 at 10:34 am #1897AnonymousInactiveAnother vote for the GAP – but only the basic ones. Some of the cute ones with designs don’t have the cuffs and slide off. (But stay away from Old Navy – they look almost identical to the Gap ones and are cheaper so I bought some, but they are thinner and stretch out, so they slide down and fall off.)

It’s cold enough here that I don’t think I’d want him with just bare feet until springtime anyway so I think of the robeez as like his slippers.
February 19, 2006 at 11:03 am #1902AnonymousInactiveWell, after much trial and error, I have found that Hanes (the
half-crew that comes up just above the ankle) stay on Zach best.
They have a “heel” so they don’t slide down. After these worked
so well Grandma bought the crew socks in the same brand and they were
much easier for him to pull off. How can something as simple as
socks be so frustrating………February 19, 2006 at 1:06 pm #1903AnonymousInactiveI have luck with Children’s Place socks. They have a longer cuff and you can double roll them down. I think this helps prevent them from slipping off.
February 19, 2006 at 2:21 pm #1912AnonymousInactiveWe love the Babystyle socks, they are a little thicker and they dont leave those red marks on her legs. You can go to http://www.babystyle.com to find them.

otherwise, the triple roll gap socks…
February 19, 2006 at 7:27 pm #1932AnonymousInactiveWe have had a lot of luck with GAP socks and The Children’s Place socks but Miss Alexis likes to be barefoot so she is always taking off her socks. So most of the day when we are hanging out, it’s footed PJamas around here!
February 19, 2006 at 9:43 pm #1946AnonymousInactiveLaura, it sounds like maybe those are the same as Robeez? Curiously, can you guys get Robeez in the US, I know that they’re Canadian.
February 19, 2006 at 10:22 pm #1952AnonymousInactiveYes, Robeez are available in the US. Actually, they are available all over the world. My latest favorites are called Wiggee’s. They are great for an older child because they have an extra layer of rubber on the sole.
February 20, 2006 at 12:03 am #1955AnonymousInactiveYes, Bobux are like Robeez. Bobux socks are great! My dd liked her Bobux better that RObeez because the pictures are facing inward towards them so they can see what is on their shoes.
February 22, 2006 at 8:07 pm #2229AnonymousInactiveAfter trying every kind of sock I could find in my home time, the only socks I buy my three kids now are from Old Navy. I used to drive 100 miles to the closest Old Navy to get them!! Now I know you can get them at their website. They are great, inexpensive, last forever, and most importantly, they stay on. I like the cusioned sock (thick and warm), turn cuff (thinner) and the cusioned sock 2 packs (thick and higher cut than the regular cusioned sock). All these socks have treads on the bottom which are great to prevent slipping. (When my girls have on tights instead of their Old Navy socks, they slip and fall all day!!). I would not reccommend the crew sock – for some reason it doesn’t stay on as well as the other three styles. Hope this helps! I had to reply to this because I have a sock fetish. I love socks!! And I’m very particular about socks. For me and for my kids.
