Inactivei have a situation with Michael ( i preferred to called it situation rather than a problem makes me feel better
) any ways we were doing so good with 4 bottles 6oz during the day and one bottle during the night and he used to wake up around 7 or 8 a.m ready for the day
now he went into this phase (i really hope is a phase
) his schedule got messed up and now its like this
:he goes to bed around 8:30 or 9 p.m. after bath/feeding/rock then around 12 or2 he wakes up for a bottle then again between 4or 6 and then again at 8 he wants a bottle and sleeps untill 10 or 11 in the morning skiping his morning nap and having a battle to take his afternoon nap…. but the real problem
is that he now takes half bottles
during the day i mean he takes some ozs play then alittle more until he finishes his bottle and he got this thing of taking the bottle while he is in the walker going around the dinnig room ( the only place i allow the walker to be on the safe side
) anyways he seems like he is not interested in bottles during the day i used to put him in the car seat to take them but one day i found him on the floor playing and the bottle was half way……anyways sorry about the long long explanation the thing is i dont know how to get things back the way they were and i really really want your help

KeymasterI don’t know about bottle feeding? Do most babies feed themselves bottles? What would happen if you held him to give him his botte? Do you think he would drink more? Just thinking as I type…

InactiveI’ve always held Dagney to feed her the bottle. She won’t even hold the bottle herself, so that’s my only option!
At one point she started only drinking a few ozs of her 10:00ish bottle, so I cut that one out and extended the time in between bottles, which seemed to work fine. Do you think that could be the problem?July 23, 2007 at 5:49 am #39730Anonymous
InactiveEvery time Alana reduced her intake in bottles I dropped one. This correlated with increase in solids. For eg, she would only take 60 mls at her morning tea bottle and 60 at her afo bottle; so I substituted solids for morning tea and gave her an afo bottle (which she took all of). Not sure about the night feed though…is he really hungry or unsettled. Could you try some water? What a bugger having to get up that often!!

Inactivemy son will sometimes finish his bottle while im holding him, other times he gets all in but an ounce or two and I have to put him in his bouncy seat and he will finish the bottle.. other days I have to give him time ( sometimes almost an hour) to get the rest of it in… I dont know why he does this.. only that sometimes it seems like I spend my entire day feeding him… especially since we alternate bottles and solids… no way he can take both at the same time.
