I was wondering how many of you are bothered by your partner’s snoring at night. DH recently moved back into our room, and I couldn’t believe how loud and disgusting his snoring was! I love him, but that sound is so annoying… like sleeping on a helicopter launch pad. I’ve been up all night!!
Is anyone else in this situation and what did you do about it! (I’m tempted to send him back to the guest room!)HELP!!!February 19, 2008 at 6:14 pm #48372AnonymousInactiveLori,
I feel your pain. I try to go to bed before dh b/c if I am already asleep then it isn’t a problem. But if he goes before me or at the same time (he can fall asleep at the drop of a hat) then I will nudge him and tell him he is snoring and usually if he changes position it stops. That is my only suggestion. But I feel your pain.February 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm #48375AnonymousInactiveI hate to admit it, but sometimes I sleep in another room, or my husband does because his snoring keeps me awake! I thought my mom was weird because she and her husband do the same, but now I completely understand. If I fall asleep first, I am fine, but if I wake up to pee or something, I cannot get back to sleep! It is awful!
February 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm #48376AnonymousInactiveI voted for “other” because usually dh is quiet, but he breathes very heavily, and if turned in my direction, it drives me NUTS. I fear that this is just a precursor to some heavy snoring in his future as he ages. Ugh!
February 19, 2008 at 9:20 pm #48379AnonymousInactiveI voted for other because snoring isn’t the problem…it’s TWITCHING! I have to go to sleep before he does or else I’m miserable. His body twitches all over the place as he tries to fall asleep and it drives me crazy! As long as I’m already in bed (which is the case 99.9% of the time) then it doesn’t bother me. He does snore sometimes, but only when he lays on his back. *sigh* I can TOTALLY see why people sleep in different rooms!
BTW – I am happy to hear that DH is back in your room. I know that was an issue for a while.
February 19, 2008 at 9:58 pm #48384AnonymousInactiveDh doesn’t usually snore and when he does, I nudge him and he changes positions and it stops. Usually! Sometimes it doesn’t so I have a very bad night 🙁
February 19, 2008 at 10:39 pm #48390hellbenntKeymaster(Hi Robin !!!)
Yeah, count me in to the my dh snores club! I also ‘just’ have to get him to change position. ‘just.’ harumph!February 20, 2008 at 10:44 am #48398AnonymousInactiveYou also can count me in on the dh snore club. One morning I was drying my hair and could hear my dh snoring over that, so imagine how loud that was. I have tried sleeping in another room with the door closed and I could still hear him.
February 20, 2008 at 2:31 pm #48408AnonymousInactiveLori, this is such a funny poll and I can so relate. On the rare occassions I do get to sleep with DH, his snoring drives me mad and I am ready to run back to the guest room screaming. Even Seth will hit DH sometimes when he is asleep and say “Stop it, Daddy!!!!”
February 20, 2008 at 11:38 pm #48443AnonymousInactiveApparently I’m terrible for snoring. Thankfully, DH sleeps like a log.
Funny story though, when I was a teenager and away at summer camp, I actually had our dorm chaperone wake me in the night to ask me to roll over. Apparently I was snoring so loud it was waking the other girls and they woke the chaperone to get her to do something about it! Kind of embarassing.February 21, 2008 at 9:14 am #48451AnonymousInactiveDh is a quiet sleeper, but I had to laugh at Amy’s response b/c he does twitch a lot and sometimes he’ll have his hand on my leg or tummy and then he starts grabbing me from twitching so I throw his arm over and he rolls over a stays asleep. But from the sounds of things here, I should be glad this is all that happens!!!
Also glad to here that DH is in the room with you!!February 21, 2008 at 2:50 pm #48463AnonymousInactiveDH snores so loud that if i keep the doors open he wakes up michael who is in the next room
February 21, 2008 at 7:18 pm #48476AnonymousInactivesnorer over here too!!
i wake nudge him all night long and tell him to roll over.but about once a week.. i will nudge him and he respondes “what what happened?!!” and i say “you are snoring!!” and he looks around in disbelief and says “whos snoring!!!??” .. and he is serious. -
