spitting up Prevacid

My son is 8 weeks old and has been on Prevacid for about 4 weeks. He has done amazingly well since being on it. We have a different baby. After doing lots of reading on here we began splitting his dose into two doses and are giving it 30 min. to 1 hour before a feeding.

He has silent reflux so for the most part he does not spit up. However, recently he has begun spitting up his medicine hours after getting it. Most of the time he will have had two or sometimes three feedings in him and then will randomly spit up the medicine. It is very purple in color and you can see all the small pellets that are in the medicine. It makes no sense to me because you would think his body would have absorbed it long before that. Has anyone had this happen? Any suggestions?

So: what is the form of prevacid? if it’s the solutab you cannot crush it, as it must dissolve- if it’s capsules then the beads aren’t dissolving I think?- I know that others can respond better- there’s a post somwhere about ‘purple spit up’ if you do a search (okdid a search for you & it’s at the bottom- looks like purple spit up is ‘common’ w/ the solutabs)

to do a search: there’s the ‘search’ button located in the upper right hand corner of the screen

you put the key word/s you’re searching for

then you choose “Topic Subject” from the drop- down menu of “Search In”

then I like to choose “All Forums” from the drop- down menu of “Search Forum”

then I like to choose “Topic Start Date” from the drop- down menu of “Sort Results By” (this way I get all the posts from the past that might help me)
