Yes…we started Alana on that feed. About 6pm. Her last bottle is about 7pm. We only did cereal once…it didn’t go well….so we actually started on veges and fruit. We are only re-doing cerreals now.
personally I don’t believe the order of things matter- especially for a breastfed baby because breast milk is sweet- so you can start w/ banana, sweet potato, avocado, apple, pear, cereal, carrots, whatever…that’s my opinion…then maybe squash, green beans…
My mom started all 4 of us on banana too. She followed the La Leche book she had. I still have that thing. They suggest bananas first followed by meat! Not sure about the meat, but mom swears that bananas worked great. She would always mix whatever new food she introduced with the bananas too.
Adriana is now eating sweet potatos and bananas. She loves eating from the spoon. I started with beechnut oatmeal also. I introduce new foods at breakfast or lunch so I can watch her throughout the day for any allergic reactions. And I make the baby food using organic products. I do not want any preservatives, I have heard that they can cause sleep problems.
