I just read pirate.wife’s post, and our stories are somewhat similar. Elie has now been on zegerid for 8 days and she doesn’t seem to be improving, if nothing else, it seems to be getting worse. The problem is we cannot seem to pinpoint a difference b/c sometimes she does ok at feedings and other times she goes rigid and will not let the nipple even touch her tongue. She gets 2 bottles a day of formula and the rest of the time is breastmilk. It is absolutely heartbreaking to watch her. Sometimes I can hear her swallow and it rumbles in her tummy and she screams, other times it is a “hard swallow” and her eyes get really wide, but she’ll keep eating. Lately, she has been not wanting anything to do with any kind of feeding–breast or bottle. She gets hiccups frequently, has trouble staying asleep, can’t stand the car seat (which i don’t know if it’s reflux related). I think we’re going to try to take her back to the pediatrician tomrorow, but I don’t know what he can do for us. I am feeling so sad and frustrated right now.
