Sudden Axid aversion???

LO has been on Axid since she was 4 days old (she’s 5 weeks old)….current dose is 1.5 mL twice a day….the last two days (or so) she has been having a severe reaction when we try to dose her with the Axid (no real problems previously, she used to take it pretty easily)….spitting it back out, screaming like she’s in pain, gagging, etc…. this mornings dose caused a pretty nasty reflux ‘episode’ immediately following administration, but not sure if it was the medication or the fact that she was screaming bloody murder!!!

She also takes Prevacid (solutabs) twice daily and we haven’t been experiencing any trouble there….I’m at a loss….anyone have any similar experiences with Axid?? Could the Axid be causing her pain, as there is no alcohol in it?? Can it be mixed with anything (Mylanta?)?? Thanks!!

axid can be mixed w/ mylanta

make sure you space the mylanta and the axid 4 hrs from the prevacid
