Taking zantac 3x a day- will it last overnight?

Hi all, my first time posting on this site! 🙂 I have a medication question. I was giving my baby 1 ml of zantac 2x a day. It worked really well for a while, but unfortunately she has now outgrown it. My ped told me to add an extra 0.4 ml in the middle of the day. So she would get 1 ml at 8am, 0.4 ml at 2pm, and 1 ml at 8pm. My concern is- will the medication last through the night for the 12 hour stretch? Or would it make more sense to split the total dosage into 2? Maybe a dose every 12 hours like before? She has silent reflux so when she’s flat on her back at night, I can hear her swallowing down the reflux. It’s pretty bad. She’s 14 lbs. Dr said max dosage is 3.0 a day, so she’s getting there. I’m hoping we won’t have to switch to a different med since zantac was working so well for us. Thanks in advance!

As you will learn from the link Groupie Intro, many babies seem to plateau on zantac and then need to ‘move on’ to a PPI.
You will also learn that many doctors and even ped GIs don’t know as much as the collected first-hand knowledge found on this site!

the zantac dose can go as high as 10 mgs per kilo. Do NOT just take my word on this! read all you can & make your own, educated decisions!
there’s a link from groupie intro w/ zantac dosing. read the research. then, you may feel comfortable increasing the dose on your own. I can’t tell you what to do!

I *can* tell you that zantac is safe for babies & the dosing I’m quoting comes from the medical field/research.
