InactiveUgh, my downfall is the seven boxes of girl scout cookies I bought. Mmmmmmm….thin mints. Sadly, I am not dieting at this point, even though I’m 15 lbs over my ideal weight. I plan on starting once the weather is nice enough to take Gabby on long walks.

Inactiveyes, I will be glad when the Easter candy is cleared out. Way too much tempation. It doesn’t help that we always have an overabundance at work either. I work at a church and the remains of the preschool egg hunt showed up in our break room yesterday- I am not kidding there were 5 HUGE bags of every kind of candy you can imagine in there!! I was having hot flashes by the end of the day from all of the sugar I ate!!

Kim, I am a member of WW online but have not been very good about staying OP. I am going to try to really crack down after Easter.. No more excuses!

InactiveEASTER is over very soon everyone
. Lets decide it is officially over on Wednesday and everyones new healthy eating plans start on Wednesday (OK you have found out I am a bit bossy tooooo

InactiveHeather, there actually is a method to my whole Monday plan. You’re right that I tend to have a rougher time on the weekends. I’m doing the weight watcher flex plan, which means that I get 18 points a day (well, technically 20, but in 3 pounds it switches to 18, so I’m trying to get ready for it now
) and 35 “flex” points every week. I found that when I started on Saturdays, I used a big chunk of my flex points in the first two days of the week. Then I was depressed all week that I couldn’t have anything “fun” and I would end up blowing it all together. Now, when I start my week on Monday I have motivation to behave all week so I can eat fun stuff on the weekend. It worked really well for me last fall, but then I fell apart over the holidays and I just haven’t managed to get back on track!April 7, 2007 at 8:18 am #29809Anonymous
InactiveI wanted to share what I’ve eaten since I went on my hiatus. Partly as a “shame on me” and partly as a “it was sooooooooo yummy!”. I had Arby’s for lunch, Pizza for dinner and Dairy Queen for dessert! Talk about realllllllllllllllllllly blowing the diet!
It was worth it and I WILL be starting again soon. I felt so guilty about what I ate yesterday, which is good b/c it means my body/mind is still in “diet” mode! It was yummy while it lasted!Kim – I LOVE Weight Watchers since they started the Flex Plan. This is the 3rd time I’ve done it (and been successful) and it’s been sooo much easier now that they do the flex points! Question b/c I can’t find it in my information (and i don’t go to meetings). What is the weight cut off for dropping to 18 points? I wonder if I’m getting close and maybe that’s why I didn’t lose much last week.

Inactivei did weight watchers too.. but i had trouble doing it without a book.. the online service didnt help me really find/figure out the foods i ate or wanted to eat. so i gave up. is there a book that is really good that i could but that could tell me how many points everything is? would i be able to do this w/o paying all over again online..or would u still recommend keeping track of it online too?!

InactiveI would look online and see if someone is selling the Complete Foods List Book and Dining Out Book. I couldn’t survive without those! OH you also want a point slide scale too. That helps you calculate foods without having to look them up. Maybe EBAY would have some for sale?
I am fortunate enough to be able to do it without having to pay for meetings (online or in person). I’ve just never needed them. Instead I just always weigh in on Monday mornings in the nurse’s office at school.
GOOD LUCK!

InactiveI’ve never tried weight watchers, but maybe I should. (?) I’ve always just cut everything out as my way to trim down.

InactiveI think I might have mentioned this in another thread somewhere, but my MIL has lost 32 pounds doing Weight Watchers. She just does the free online program – she doesn’t go to meetings. So anyway, it definitely works for some ppl!

InactiveI love weight watchers! I lost close to 40 pounds a couple years before I had Kaelyn. I managed to get almost back to that weight after having her, but it’s been much harder this time around!
The cut off point for 20 to 18 points is 150. I have an extra points slider if you’d like it. Just email me.

Keymasterthere’s a GREAT weight watchers site where there is even a huge list of restaurants & the points for lots of foods!
here’s the main page: http://www.dwlz.com/
here’s the restaurant listing (I love taco bell
): scroll down a bit: http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.htmlI’m nursing & w/ weight watchers I’ve read that I can add extra points – 2pts per nursing session up to 10pts…hmm…
how to calculate how many points you have a day:http://www.dwlz2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9834
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
here’s the lo-down, LOL; http://www.dwlz2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327
and here’s how to calculate points (from above link): If you don’t have it [points calculator]handy, you can use a calculator with the following formula. POINTS = [Calories/50] – [grams of fiber*/5] + [grams of fat/12] *note that the grams of fiber are capped at 4 grams per serving.
InactiveHoly smokes- I don’t know how you gals survive on 18 points. I get 23
and still feel like I am starving half the time. Anyway, for the record, I wanted to say that WW online’s message boards are free but you have to sign up and pay 16 bucks or so a month to get full access to their databases and online store. You can though do a free trial for a week but you have to give a credit card up front and be sure to cancel before the week is up not to get charged. Overall, I think it is a good program if I can just get my ‘rear in gear’ and stick with it. The sad thing is I’ve restarted the program several times now and everytime I am heavier than before. I HAVE to do something soon! I am out of control.April 9, 2007 at 3:20 pm #29941Anonymous
InactiveI love that site Laura. I use it all the time if we are going out somewhere (or I’m weak and want to go for fast food)!!!
