I don’t know what the exact angle is. I think that the design can be deceiving when you look at it. You have the option to make it higher or lower somewhat because of the wedges, but if you add a wedge to elevate the head section, you basically have to take it from the counterwedge at the foot section. We had an extra wedge from toys r us that we added underneath the head and she basically is pretty close to sitting up, but she still sleeps poorly. Also, she does fall down sometimes, and she’s much older, so I don’t know how well it would hold a little one Trace’s age. The owner of the company is super nice though, and he would be willing to answer your questions and could probably tell you more about the angle etc. so that you could make a better decision. I have read about quite a few babies doing well with the tucker sling/wedge, so you might want to look at that. I think there’s also a company called pediacraft (http://www.pediacraft.com), and I once remember someone posting that she got her wedge and sling paid for with a referral for that specific company, though I don’t know why. Could you call medicaid directly and ask them which sleep positioning products for acid reflux disease do they cover with a physician’s referral?
August 29, 2006 at 3:27 pm #12575AnonymousInactiveIt was not elevated enough for Isaac. I know others who swear by it-
which is why we bought one (we were desperate) but it was not elevated
enough for him. He hated it!!!

August 30, 2006 at 1:18 pm #12675AnonymousInactiveSo after another sleepless night, I woke up determined to order a Tucker
Wedge and have it overnighted, only to find out that the wedge only works
for up to 16lbs. We don’t have a crib right now (we are trying to move, and
haven’t had the space to set it up), and can’t use the sling. After a moment
of despair, I did a bit more research and ordered an AR pillow. Anyone have
any success with that one? I spoke to the creator, and she was really nice,
and it should be here tomorrow I hope!
August 30, 2006 at 1:30 pm #12677AnonymousInactivewow i didnt know the tucker wedge only goes to 16 lbs. that is good to know.
i am looking at the wedges from the pediacraft.com website lori provided. their wedges go up to a much higher weight.
August 30, 2006 at 3:03 pm #12688AnonymousInactiveYeah, I saw those too (one on ebay), but think they are probably prohibitively
expensive for me. When I spoke with Liz at AR Pillow, she was able to send
me a larger wedge than they have on their site right now. I was also happy
to buy a product from a mom who has been where we are–she designed
the pillow when her son (who is now 3) was a baby with reflux.

I don’t personally know anything about the pediacraft ones, Natalia, I just remember someone mentioning it, so you might want to ask around. I think one difference, is that I don’t think the sling part can be separated from the wedge.
