Why are you asking about a thickener? Usually a baby is rx’d one after a Swallow Study, which looks at the mechanics of HOW baby is swallowing/sucking and also it will see if there is any aspiration. After this test, then the SLP will tell you the exact consistency of thickener to use and at this time the different brand names of thickeners will come up. Otherwise, thickening might not be what’s needed? Is baby in pain? Medicated? which ones? what dose & form?
Is baby breastfeeding? Formula? which one?
how about poop? normal? mucousy?
painful gas?
rashes? excema?
Please tell more so that we can help you more
so glad you found us!
