to antibiotic or not?

Hello!

Ok, so this doesn’t have to do with reflux medication – but – I thought I’d ask here anyhow.

DD has had a cold for 1 week. Her drainage was clear, then turned colors a bit, and now back to clear. She’s super full of crud, still. Last week, she had a slight fever for a couple of days.

She’s mostly happy – a few spells of crying – last night she did in the middle of the night for a few minutes on and off – she just couldn’t breathe:( Or, an ear infection?

Her ped called in an antibiotic last week – but I wanted to wait it out a touch. I have NO idea if she needs one – still the virus – or bacterial??

Would love to hear experiences:) I really hate antibiotics and don’t want to use them if I don’t have to!

for all things related to ears and congestion we always tried saline first- not the little noses kind bcse it’s the same as the adult kind & the store brand adult saline nasal drops are much less expensive-

we’d shoot saline up the nose at every diaper change and did not suction- just let gracity do it’s thing- using saline really helped clear up and prevent ear infections for jonah…
