InactiveWell after a horrid day of continous spitting up we gave her two ounces of Nestle good start at around 8 pm to see if she’d tolerate it. She did!!!!! A lot better than my breastmilk…here’s what I dont understand, I’ve been on the elimination diet for 3 weeks cause we thought she was colicky from gas!!! ERRR…I have included everything from diary, soy, gassy foods, acidic foods….UGH!!! I dont get it….Even caffine.

InactiveThis may just be a fluke. She might start spitting up the formula too. It will take time to build up in her system. Give it two weeks and see if it does build up and then she might start spitting up it too. I really hope that isn’t the case but if you eliminated everything its hard to believe she was still spitting up so much. I hope this works for you and maybe you will get a break from her spitting up so much. Is she on medication?

InactiveKaelyn did really well with every formula switch for a few days up to a week. Then she would fall apart again. The ped GI said that there is often a “honeymoon” period whenever you make any switch. Then the body recognizes the new thing as a problem and everything falls apart.

InactiveAnother thought — have you tried eliminating wheat? It never occurred to me to do that, but it’s apparently fairly common for babies to have problems with it.

Keymasterrice, too…beef, too…
also. are you avoiding hidden dairy & soy?
you say the elimination diet, but it doesn’t sound like dr sears elimination diet…there are various ways to eliminate foods…sounds like you’re already almost there, mama!

hopefully with some more tweaking you’ll figure it out, even if figuring it out means it’s not mspi at all
what are the mspi symptoms? excema? mucousy stools?

InactiveYes, I totally concur with the “honeymoon” phase when trialing new formulas. Brodie went from breastmilk to Similac Advance to Isomil. He drank 6 oz. o f Isomil for the first feeding and he was only 6 weeks old. Several days after that he refused to eat and it went downhill until we ended up on Alimentum. I would keep pumping just in case so you don’t lose your milk. Good Luck!!!!

InactiveWe went throughthe “honeymoon phase” with every formula we tried. Eventually ended up on Alimentum RTF- she wouldn’t even take it when I made powder. This started at about 4 1/2 weeks old. She is now 6 months old= off her meds and were contemplating trying to ween her off the Alimentum. No reactions ot solids so far.
Also- I was totally a Nestle Good start mom with my 1st 2 kids- Kenzie couldn’t handle it – I thgink it was too thin. She needed a formula with a little more “weight” to it. Big difference when I compared the 2 next to each other.
Good Luck-
