Which one seems to work best for teething pain? Ben is about driving us bonkers around here. Not sleeping, not eating and being a royal stinker.
Also, he cut his first tooth two weeks ago today, and there is still no sign of the second one, other than his cranky, drooling self. Claire’s always came close together in pairs, so this seems weird to me. Is it?
motrin seems to be stronger, but it’s tougher on sensitive tummies…
benedryl rubbed on the gums seems to help as does a regular oral does of benedryl- the drool/saliva has antihistimines and benedryl is an antihistimine…(thanks to ann marie for this tip!)
I’ve found motrin works best. In fact, Sarah’s dose of motrin from this morning must have worn off because she’s up from her afternoon nap way earlier than normal. DARN TEETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tylenol helps Cooper sleep better, but I think the Motrin lasts longer. We alternate b/t the two every 6hrs as needed. So what I normally do is give Tylenol at bedtime and try motrin if he wakes up. But if you read my post from last night, obviously something isn’t working for us. Coopers 2nd tooth came in about 10days later, maybe Ben just has thick gums that don’t want to let it through. Too bad we can’t all have a conference call in the middle of night when we are all awake! Sending happy sleep vibes your way.
Cooper seemed to have trouble with Tylenol since it had corn syrup something or rather in it. Since I was giving it to him multiple times a day and several days in a row ( teething ), it wasn’t long before his little system went ACK! So Motrin for us!!
