InactiveWOO HOO for Christian and our family. Given all of Christian’s eating /reflux /sleeping issues lately we did it. We went for a car ride that was supposed to take an hour that ended up lasting 2 hours. We spent the entire day at Disney World – where he used his sippy cup for water/juice/drinkable yogurt, ate spoon foods for breakfast/lunch/dinner…even ate a bottle at the part while watching the parade and fireworks. We THEN stayed an entire night in a hotel feeding tube and all. The next morning ate his pears at the table in the restaurant, ate french fries and drink yogurt at McDonalds for lunch and managed another 1 hour car ride …..
ALL WITHOUT INCIDENT! I am so excited. And to top it all off when we got back we found out he qualified for early intervention where we will receive ot, st, audiology support, nutrition guidance ALL AT OUR HOME!!
Oh – and he is walking about 5 steps before realizing he can go more quickly crawling and is now clapping his hands.
Thanks for listening!

InactiveThat is so fantastic. Its amazing how these little non-eaters can surprise us by eating so well at times. I’m so happy that your trip went well.

InactiveThey have this new area at disney with rubber mulch and big rubber toys shaped like honey pots. He would just crawl in them and hide with the big kids.
Laura – he was sleeping when the characters were close enough to touch – so he missed out on that. But I think all the other visual stimulation was key to distraction.
I just got a call from the new dietician – coming to our house on Monday to do a consult. I am so excited.

InactiveLaura, I’m so glad to hear such good news! It must have been so nice to get out and do normal things, and to have him do so fabulously is wonderful!!!! I hope this is just the beginning of more good things to come.
