Just tried to order more Caracream and found out that it is no longer available. This was devastating since we feel like we finally just got our LO comfortable. Sleeps well day and night, happy when awake, tolerating his carseat! We are working on getting a rx for zegerid but we tried that once before and didn’t pursue it since it was going to be so $$$! Also, the md did not rx it at Marci-kids dosing and so we didn’t think it would work anyway. Therefore we took matters into our own hands and bought otc prevacid and caracream. Now that its gone we are wondering what our options are. Anyone else have a plan for how to get meds into their LO without CC? I know otc zegerid tastes awful but is there a way to sweeten it or something? I prefer to stick with the otc route since I’m not sure we will be able to get our ped to rx a ppi at adequate dosing. Thanks for any advice!

how old is baby?

I would buy capsules and give the beads inside the capsules

you give them on an empty stomach

you give them w/ a tsp of apple sauce

then you follow w/ a ‘meal’ 30 minutes later

the timing sucks (empty stomach!)

but it’s the next best effective way…

it’s hard to medicate around meals
