InactiveOkay, Cooper will be 7 monhts on Sunday and I know he is “advanced” with some of the things he does, but goodness I don’t know what to do.
He rolled over at 3 1/2 months, sat up unassisted at 5 1/2 months and has been “crawling” for about 3 weeks now. Well last sunday he started trying to pull up on the couch. Has been successfull a few times and usually falls right down. Well now he has learned how to stand up in his crib!!! He did it twice last night… ugh…. I am so scared he is going to be walking before he is even in double digits age wise…. Anyone had a similar experience? my mom jokes that he will be running marathons soon

InactiveUh-oh! You’re in trouble!
I bet he’ll be walking by 9 months.

InactiveIsaac was walking at 10 months and was into everything. It was actually kind of fun for me though!

Inactivemy son hit all of those mile stones at the same time; there is a huge range of what is considered normal. its “normal” to walk anywhere from 8 months to 18 months.

InactiveYup…BTDT…my oldest was full-fledged crawling by the time he was 5 months and was walking by the time he was 10 months…he actually didn’t learn to sit unassisted until he was almost 7 months old…he could crawl before he could sit up.
Course, every kid since then has been slower at doing things than him, but they are all well within “normal” for everything…even my DD who didn’t talk until she was 18m.

Keymasterlower that crib mattress, start baby-proofing like mad and just enjoy
my babies crawled a looong time- they got so good & speedy that they just didn’t ‘think’ about walking, LOL

InactiveAlex rolled over early, didn’t sit unassisted until almost 7 months, crawled a week later, pulled up shortly afterward, and then didn’t walk until right around her first birthday. So, you just never know! Like Laura’s boys, she was so happy crawling that she didn’t seem to see the point in walking.

InactiveBeth, wow. He is such a stud-muffin!!! I have no advice unfortunately. I’m the mom on the other end of the spectrum that has a sweet baby who is quite content to NOT be mobile in any way shape or form.
It worries me a lot but I try not to think about it. Kate hasn’t even rolled over yet! She’s sooooooooo close and I know she can do it, she’s just happy having me carry her everywhere I guess. Wowzer Cooper! I’m impressed with your stats!!

InactiveI absolutely agree that every baby is unique! Sarah was early in almost all of her gross motor feats. She sat up early, crawled early, pulled up early, cruised early…but she didn’t start really walking until 12-13 months. I thought FOR SURE she would be running baby marathons by 9 or 10 months but she took her sweet time! Just start baby proofing now, get ready, and watch him go!

InactiveOh my goodness, I just saw this. I agree with Laura, lower the crib mattress! Kaden jumped out of his crib at 7 mos and he was a 9 month walker (crawled very early) again…Cooper reminds me so much of Kaden! Lower the mattress if you haven’t yet! Oh my goodness! get ready to be running around a lot! LOL
