Okay, I am about to go crazy. For over a month now Justice has been doing the same thing. He will sleep one stretch of 4 to 6 hours and then he will not go back to sleep. He is tired, I think, but just won’t go back to sleep. Okay, here is what happens: He wakes up after 4to 6 hrs and eats. He falls asleep while eating. I put him down and about 30 mins later he is again tossing around. He is in an amby bed so I bounce him for anywhere from 5 to 10 mins. He falls back asleep and again tosses after about 10 mins. Then I bounce him again. Basically we do this the rest of the night. WHAT IS THE DEAL? Should I just expect to get up at this point and say my sleep and his is done? He will take one 2to 3 hr nap during the day. Of course, not when I am trying to take the nap with him. My 2 yr still takes a nap so I try to take one at the same time, but Justice rarely will sleep for that nap. Of course!!!!!!!!!!!
I should say that I try to get him to take 3 naps, but he won’t. So here are the things I have tryed at night. Mylanta, teething tablets, teething gel, changing his diaper, swaddeling, unswaddeling, socks on, socks off, another blanket, fan on, fan off, different temps in the house, burping, not burping, trying to wake him to make sure he is eating, putting him in bed with me, amby bed, bouncy seat, cosleeper elevated, white noise, and other things I’m sure. For awhile I thought it might be teething, but I’m not so sure anymore. I increased his Zegerid to 5 ml 3 x a day. Dr Phillips suggestion. Now I have thought about taking him off the Zegerid to see what will happen. Of course I think it would be a disaster. He is still coughing way after feedings so I know he still has reflux.
Sorry for the long post, but I am up and very angry. Any advice would be great.
As I seem to remember, Abby went through a time like that when she was about that age. As long as we knew it wasn’t reflux pain waking her up, we just let her be in her crib and eventually, back to sleep she went. This went on for a few days and went away. We started her on cereal a short time later and it has been great ever since (knock on wood). Are you planning to start any cereal any time soon? I know there is a lot of disagreement on when to start but it may be worth a try
. The increase in the Zegerid dose may be what will help also. As I always say – WHERE IS THE INSTRUCTION BOOK WHEN YOU NEED IT!!Hope things get better soon!!

Yeah where is the instruction manuel? Let me tell ya all of us reflux moms need to get together and write a book. The info we have is priceless.
Maybe that should be a Laura mission. I haven’t tryed cereal yet. I don’t think I am going to start any solids for awhile. I am planning on just breastfeeding him for awhile. Who knows though I just might try. I’m kind of afraid that he will stop breastfeeding when I start solids. I am trying to stay away from anything that might make him stop. I didn’t get to breast feed my older son for very long and my plan is to breast feed Justice until he is 2. This just might be my last baby that I will be able to breast feed and I want to enjoy it as long as I can. After both of our reflux babies dh and I are thinking about adopting. Of course, knowing our luck that baby would have reflux too.
How ironic would that be? Yes, I love the new picture. And I really admire you for wanting to breastfeed for two years!!! What a lucky little boy.
I can’t tell you how sad I feel that nursing didn’t work for any of my babies. 
I had to pump and feed all three and gave up pumping between 5 & 6 months for each. I was able to keep my second two on breast milk for a year with what I had frozen, but I so much wanted to nurse them into toddlerhood. I really hope it works for you and Justice.Anyway, though my babies were all on breast milk exclusively, at 3 or 4 months, I did give them one bottle of formula at bedtime and also some cereal (only at bedtime) and I really, really, think it does helps them sleep better. Breast milk is so easy to digest that it goes through them very quickly. The formula is heavier and takes longer to digest so I think it helps at night. I wanted my kids on breast milk but I didn’t mind the one bottle of formula at bedtime. Maybe something to try when you are ready.

I think I would’ve given up. What am I saying I did give up with my first. I was so stressed with Luke and very sleep deprived. At least I am sleeping this time. Thank you God for that. With Luke I was actually delirous. I don’t remember much from him being a baby other than the things he liked and the fact that he never slept, cried all the time, and spit up everywhere. I know we will get through this and I will sleep again. It is just really agrivating that just a month ago he was sleeping great and now this. I hope it is teeth, but man if it is and it takes this long for one tooth to come in. We are in for a long time without sleep. Hi Im new and havent had teh chance to write my story yet but I will do it soon. My little man is 4 months old, breastfed and has reflux and had other issues at birth, oh and he had a cleft lip that was repaired a few weeks ago….Sleep….WHAT IS THAT??? Jett is not big on sleeping longer than a few hours and it is killing me, but I will not go onto formula as it made no difference with my first son (refluxer aswell)….Im very tired and my four year old is coping the brunt of it, poor kid he is bored out of his brains. It doesnt help that Im suffering quite badly with PND and things just arent darn right fair!! Ok thats my whinge
But I can still smile at/with my boys so Im not totally lost

Just an update. While on vacation I noticed that Justice is getting 4 teeth in all at the same time. I don’t know if we will get some sleep once they are in, but I am expecting not. I am hopeful, but not expecting it. Thanks for all the comments.
