InactiveMy son,Logan is 6 months. We have had a time from day one,and at this point are on Neocate, with prevacid twice a day(15 mg) and bethanical every six hours. I am starting to wonder about the Neocate…My son has always had reflux, but he throws up every 5 sec…seriously..I know it’s hypoallergenic…but..He also has a milk protein and soy allergy.
We have also been on this for 3 months and his spitting up has greatly increased!!!I have no clue what to do. This has been the longest 6 months! IT breaks my heart to see him so antsy,fussy..you can tell the reflux hurts..he doesn’t sleep well is easily startled…The doctor says..the famous “he will outgrow” this, but it is truly affecting his and our way of life…what can I change to make things better-managable..Could it be the Neocate?Any advice, suggestions, stories are appreciated! Thanks so much and God bless this group!!:)February 17, 2009 at 10:38 pm #61110hellbennt

Inactivei can relate to you my daughter is 9 months old and has been on the neocate since she was 4 months old she is currentley waiting for different meds since all the others she has tried failed to help her. Since being on the neocate it seems her spitting up has greatly increased she spits up like every 2 minutes and it is clear like water and smells very badly sometimes i can’t tell if it is spit up or just drool since it looks the way it does.

Groupie Intro: my intro: https://www.infantreflux.org/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=853&PN=1&TPN=1
if you stop solids, I would stop the rice to be honest-
harsh on their tummies and not real ‘need’ for ittry oatmeal or barley if you feel the ‘need’ for a cerealtry beechnut brand, not gerber, or a ‘natural’ brandor, just go straight for fruits & veggiesit’s all trial & error…hellbennt2009-02-19 08:00:06
