What to expect from Prilosec?

Hi, ladies. My son has just been prescribed Prilosec, after not doing gloriously on Zantac, and we are wondering what we can expect as side effects: will it really take 2 weeks for the medicine to kick in and, in the meantime, is Sava going to be completely miserable? Is there a chance that he is going to feel better immediately?

It can take up ot 14 days. we saw a miracle on day 12. we saw improvement before day 12, maybe day 4 but it was day 12 where we had a new baby. Please continue with the zantac while you wait for the prilosec to kick in. I did NOT do this & learned the HARD way. you have to space the zantac & prilosec out at least 2 hrs from one another.

i hope the prilosec dose is high enough…& I hope that you’re giving zegerid? if not & it’s compounded from the pharmacy, chances are it won’t remain stable past 2 weeks, that is IF it’s compounded correctly…
