When does it take into effect?

After telling the ped that Axid did not work for our daughter, Karolyn. He told us to try Prevacid and said I should see significant improvement. Karolyn currently weighs at 5lb 1oz and he said to give 15mg Prevacid at 4ml in the morning and 3.5ml at night. Karolyn started taking it this past Monday and I know it’s only Thursday, but does anyone know how long it takes to see some results. She’s still arching her back and crying during feeding.

Depending, it should take about 2 weeks to see good results. And it does depend on the form. We are on solutabs and have to time around meals, the other forms tend to not be made correctly, but other moms can chime in about that as I am not educated with those times. Best of luck, hang in their.

it can take a full 14 days to see the effects. it was day 12 for jonah, it was THAT noticeable. however, we did begin to see the effect before then- slowly but surely…but for SURE day 12!

if you still have axid, I would give that also, spaced 4hrs seperate from the prevacid, until you see the full results of the prevacid, bcse w/o it its like she’s not on meds…just a thought…

if it’s solutabs I wonder about the dr telling you about mls? I would get a pill cutter & split the solutab and just deal with giving it like that-there is a link to tips on how to give the solutabs from ‘Prevacid 101’
