When to wean off reflux meds???

Hi all!!! My son is 8 months. He has reflux and is currently on tummy care/Prilosec. Three times a day/5mg per dose. This has been a miracle and we are finally pain free. He still spits up all day long! We go through between 5-6 outfits a day but it does not bother him, it really is just a laundry issue. I am not sure if he is ready to start weaning off meds and do not really know how to tell when is a good time. Would really love the advice of all of you? I have learned more from this sight then any doctor ever! Moms know best!!! Thanks ladies

sounds like a good dose – I’d stay with it for a bit.

OR:

you can always try cutting out one dose and see how he is after two weeks of just two doses…

OR:

continue w/ 3 doses, but lower each individual dose

ps: did you ever share your dr’s info? was/is s/he on board with the increased dosing or did you just do it yourself? thanks!
