Where to Buy Prevacid

Does anyone know where you can buy Prevacid at the lower price? Our insurance suddenly is not approving it anymore.

have you tried a letter of medical necessity from both you and the doctor? i would really fight with them about this-state things like what they will have to pay for if baby cant take a PPI …ie;acid will damage esophogus, baby could end up being tube fed, etc..this is really serious!

A letter of medical necessity might work, but insurance companies can be brutal, they don’t HAVE to cover any medication, and it can be quite the pain to get them to cover one that they don’t want to!

I fianlly got the insurance to pay for Aidan’s last 2 months of prevacid after fighting with them for 10 months, and paying 120 every month out of pocket.

we joined “Toguether Rx” a pharmaceutical prescriptions discount company and we get a pretty good discount with it. It’s free to join, but yo have to meet some qualifications. It saves us about 40% of the cost.

I would also ask your insurance about getting an exception…I had to for almost every medication we tried for Brianna.

You may can ask your GI or ped. if they can get you some samples. Also, I don’t know what their criteria is but on the Prevacid website you can get free or reduced cost Prevacid if your insurance will not cover it.

They GIVE prevacid (capsules only) away for free if you meet certain guidelines. You can even have partial prescription drug coverage. I do, and it would cost over $300 per month for the boys prevacid alone if I did not get it from them.

As you guys probably know, I’m kind of a worry wart, so I’d be cautious of any prescriptions bought over the internet. You don’t always know what you’re getting.

Good luck. Now that dh’s health plan has switched over, I’m starting to realize how much these meds actually cost. Before that all we had to pay was a 5 dollar copay (now we pay about 40 dollars for the prevacid alone).
