Audrey has been diagnosed with MSPI, she had/has many many symptoms, big ones being excema and she gets excess mucous build up in the back of her throat causing apnea episodes…shes had ER trips and a sleep monitor…so we know that and she is on neocate doing great….we trialed rice cereal a while ago and that was a no go…excema flare-up and mucousy stools…saw her Gi, he said wait with solids till 6-9 months (and no top 8 allergens until at least a year if not 5 due to family history)…holding off until as close to 9 months as we can…and we stupidly tried sweet potatoes – because the girl so desperately wants to eat solids (I know I should be glad about that and I am, BUT her body cant)…she leans in she grabs my spoon all the time, she ate the sp’s like a champ, no mess swallowed the whole deal…and was happy happy happy….then came the mucous and apnea episodes again (and rash, and mucousy stools)….what causes that? does anyone elses kid do that? and will it ever end?
There was no dairy as I make my own baby food…I just dont get why eating food (a non allergen) would create so much mucous…she had to be suctioned out….
now of course Im waiting till 9 months cuz its freaky to see her go through that….(the rice didnt give her apnea, but it was bad also)
sorry Im venting mostly and feeling horridly guilty…but she loved it so much and hates her bottle….ugh
