InactiveI am sorry too if i have come across at all too opinionated .. i agree i just want to help others and lend advice from what i have experienced. i am also here to get a little advice sometimes as well
. But i seriously think it would be a shame to see this site go down ..because it has been a lifesaver for me.. and has been the only place to turn to where there are other mothers who understand! i hope this all gets resolved and there are no more moms leaving offended .. i LOVE EVERYONE here!!

InactiveI feel so bad. I have no idea what the new policy is. Where can I read about it? I have been off the boards because things have been busy around here. I also hope that I have not offended anyone. I am very opioniated, but NEVER want to make anyone feel bad or defensive.

InactiveI just found the new policy. I can’t imagine not having this site. I have been to other reflux forums, but it is just not the same. This is the one true site that I feel like people really get help. You have all become my friends and I would really miss you. Besides where will I turn when I have my next reflux baby?

InactiveOh no! I hope whoever left realizes we were probably just trying to help and comes back! This site saved me from some dark times, which is why I stick around.

InactiveI can honestly say that if this forum was not around, I probably would have had to be admitted to the looney bin b/c I had not clue what was going on. Noone in my family had a clue and I just thought I was a bad new mom who didn’t know how to comfort her child. This site has given me so much support and great information. Maybe not always what I wanted to hear, but definately what I need to know in order to make the right choices for my child. I sure hope that everyone realizes that even when we use Emoticons in our posts, it is still very hard to understand someones tone. That is why email and forums can be so hard. Everyone reads things differently and someone may be saying something nicely, but someone else reads it and may think it harsh. We just all need to keep in mind that everyone here is here for a reason and that is for support and to share knowlegdge. I know I would be lost without this place.

KeymasterTo add to what you’ve all said:
there are now 2 people gone…one left because she felt badly about posts to her…the other is gone because of posts she has left to others. the 2 are actually not related!! meaning, the one asked to leave did not leave the offending posts to the one who wanted to leave- the one who wanted to leave felt badly due to a whole situation that I won’t go into.
ANYWAY: I agree with Tracy that our posts should NOT turn to ‘hugs! good job’ only! we need to continue to give advice. as Ann Marie & beth (& I) posted, it is hard to read tone in a post. SO: please give the advice!! tell how it worked for YOU. I try and do that; for example with thickening: I personally don’t think it’s a great idea unless baby needs the calories or there’s been a swallow study and the study shows baby is aspirating and needs thickening. HOWEVER, I always put that I have never thickened, and so I don’t speak from personal experience AND there are a lot of mothers here who have posted how thickening has worked wonders for their babies
! so I encourage others to chime in, I encourage the poster to do a search, etc…there are more things like this: Reglan. It is scary stuff. HOWEVER there have been babies for whom it really helped! one mom suggests trying a small dose first to see what happens & perhaps the small dose will help the baby, like it helped hers…ok there are more topics that I’m opinionated about
, but I try and give information about it in a nice way…another example: Lori tells her experience with compounds. It doesn’t come across as harsh to me. It’s a fact of what she went through, and the research she’s done. some have found compounds to work wonderfully for their baby! they are lucky. personally I try & encourage posters to try to get it compounded correctly and to try & get caracream and to try & get zegerid and then solutabs…that’s me. but it’s ALL GOOD
. I don’t feel offended if my post encouraging compounds is followed by lori’s post, infact, I expect it
.I can go on & on, as we all can

so GROUP HUG
& peace to us all

InactiveI totally agree with the above posts. This board was a total LIFE SAVER for me and for Abby. I only wish I would have had it when Kayla was little. Due to the WONDERFUL advice and support I received on this board, Abby was able to get diagnosed and treatment started when she was less than a month old. I have made many friends on this board and even though Abby’s reflux is well controlled and really not an issue, I just can’t pull myself away. Of course, I am not on it 22 out of 24 hours a day anymore (maybe that’s a bit exaggerated) but I still try to pop on once in a while and help where I can. Watching these little sweeties growing up is so amazing. For example, I can’t believe Ari (Laura’s little one) is already 11 months old. Good grief, it seems like yesterday that he was born and we were all so excited for you. Time really flys and we all need to cherish each day with our little ones. Keep offering advice and support to those in need. This site is awesome and Karen deserves great appreciation for keeping it going. THANKS KAREN!!!
I think I’ve rambled enough now – take care everyone!!!

InactiveOh man, I just read this, and I agree. This place has saved my life. I can’t even explain how lost, alone and so upset I was before finding it. You incredible women have given me so much support and advice, and I only hope that I’m able to do the same.

InactiveI agree with everyone here – I would be really sad if this forum had to be shut down. All of you have been so helpful when I was at my wits end and didn’t know where to turn for information and advice. And sometimes you just need to know that you aren’t the only one in the world going through this mess – that other people understand and have been there too, and that it is possible to find some degree of relief.
I always appreciate everyone’s honesty and personal opinions, and sometimes I give my own as well. That is what we are here for – to get advice and to hear what has or hasn’t helped for others. I really hope we can continue to help one another through this forum, I would be so sad to see it go.

InactiveOH I remember when i got my panties in a wad (that expression cracks me up, my mom says it all the time) over some advice when I first came here, turns out I was really just a super tired new mom to a refluxer and a wired 6 year old who would have probably flipped out on the UPS man if he knocked at my door. I ended up giving someone else who was new the same advice after I had been here a while!!!! I love it here, and regret that I don’t come more often! Aidansmom792007-6-25 21:23:24
