Yogurt – YEAH

We introduced YoBaby whole milk yogurt three days ago…no reaction – no gassiness or fussiness or anything…and he downed nearly 3oz of the 4oz container – talk about huge caloric intake from solids – I am pumped.

Christian is now 10mos old. Do you gals think it is perhaps time to introduce more “dairy” products such as a dairy based formula (he is now on alimentum). We have an appt with the ped gi to review his situation and work on goal planning with the g-tube – I just want to go in prepared if it is time to run more trials.

We are still on stage 2 and no chunky solids…he can’t eat cheerios but is now up to 2 prongs on the puff at one time.

Any ideas?

The solid thing sounds like Colt. He can’t eat cheerios and is only eating pieces of the puffs. I just got him off Neocate. He is now on Goodstart and its been well over 3 weeks and he is doing great. I think you are going to have to try at some point but that point is different for each baby and their parents. Its scary pushing the boundries because you don’t want to relapse. I think you might keep up with the yogurt for 2 weeks and then try some other things.

and for stage 3, there are posts somewhere where feeding therapists say stage 3 is too confusing for these babies- so I wouldn’t worry about getting to stage 3 per se- sounds like you’re on a good path

As Laura said, lots of babies have skipped stage 3 foods altogether because they are kind of confusing, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
