What is a good dose for an 11 pound baby?

so, that being said: you can start at 5mgs per kilo, see how your baby does and then have ‘room’ to go up to as high as 10mgs per kilo

5mgs per kilo:

11lbs divided by 2.2 = kilos, so

11lbs divided by 2.2 = 5 kilos

5 x 5 = 25mgs total for the day

the liquid is 15mgs per ml (15mgs/ml – check your bottle)

so 25 divided by 15 = 1.7 mls total for the day

you can divide this into 2 or even 3 doses however you want- for example if bedtime is the worst time, then give .7mls in the morning & 1ml at night

or divide it up however you want, making it a total of 1.7mls for the day

10mgs per kilo:

5 x 10 = 50

50 divided by 15 = 3.3mls total for the day

divide it up however you see fit over the day so that the total for the day is 3.3mls

or, after trying 5mls per kilo for a few days (1.7mls total for the day),you can gradually try increasing it until you get to the 10mgs per kilo dose (3.3mls total for the day)
