I had our Pedi call to get us into a Pedi GI sooner b/c we were also told it would be a long wait. After he called we got in the next day. It is worth a try esp. since the pedi wouldn’t refill the script. I agree with Christine, I would be spitting nails also. These dr.’s really be off. I just can’t wait till I don’t have to deal with them anymore.

I’m glad Henry’s doing well. Good luck at the allergist. That’s a good idea to ask her about Lucy.

I just wanted to add that with my DD, we just pout out a bit of her formula into the bottle top, squirt the Zantac in, and let her suck it out. She never tastes it that way. Then we just re-screw the top back on and let her finish her meal. Works like a charm.

Well, we tried the OTC zantac. It’s a big NO GO!!

They virtually did nothing and she was in pain again. So, back to the Zantac.

Great idea to mix it with something! We tried mylanta with it tonight and it went down ok. I’ll try the bm and see how that goes.

Update…

Well, Lucy’s ped appt got cancelled. It was going to be tomorrow.

I asked the allergist about Lucy. She shook her head when I told her about the ped doc. She, of course, was limited in what she could do for us. She couldn’t give us a script for anything for reflux. So that was a no-go.

When I called to reschedule Lucy’s ped appt, I got the nurse-the one that I love there. She called in a refill for the zantac. At least it’s something untill we get to the gi doc. And, I should have enough to just give it to her 3 times a day instead of the perscribed 2xs.

I really do think she does need a PPI. She’s stiff all the time with arching. and she has small choking episodes. I say small because they are nowhere near what Henry had. It’s almost as if she’s swallowed down the wrong tube, but I can hear the fluid and the reflux. Why won’t her ped doc listen to me??? I’m sure I’m not communicating well enough with her.

I’m just glad we got the refill.

I’ll let you know what happens next week.
