Zegerid wait time and spacing of doses

My LO just started Zegerid 40mg. When we were on the 20mg he took it twice a day. Now that we have gone to the 40mg, it was suggested by Dr P to do the three times a day because he is having breakthrough issued in the afternoon, so question: How many hours in between does it need to be? He gets his first dose around 6:30am and he goes to sleep around 7:30.

Also, I know you don’t have to wait and time the med around eating, but is it better to if you can or does it really not matter and makes no difference if you do give it a waiting period before eating?

I’d say to give whenever…
that’s why ‘they’ made it

so give it 6:30 am
then
around noon (maybe before lunch or after morning nap)
then evening
