InactiveDo you guys have a brand of diapers that you prefer? I love Huggies, but with Cooper rolling over during diaper changes recently (I do them on the floor now b/c of this) I haven’t been doing too good with getting them on good and so he has been leaking some in the middle of night, which of course makes for a big ordeal. Just wondering if anyone else has been dealing with this or has a brand that they find works better for little wiggle worms.

InactiveWe leaked with Huggies in the middle of the night too. I switched to Pamper’s Swaddlers (and now Cruisers) and have been really happy with them. You’ll find preferences across the board though so it might just be trial and error for you!

InactiveFor fit (and ease in getting a good fit) I love Pampers Cruisers. They look super comfy and they are so easy to put on correctly. The only thing I don’t like about them is that my kids were heavy wetters at night and while the Cruisers didn’t usually leak they would ooze fluid out of the very soft fibers and the kids would wake up with stinky pajamas. Weird, I know. I’m not sure if others have this problem.
I use Huggies Overnights for Myles at night now and they keep him dry. He was leaking out of every other diaper at night. For daytime I use the cheap walmart diapers and they work just fine.August 12, 2007 at 10:18 am #40912Anonymous
InactiveI use Pampers Swaddlers for Peyton. I found that they just fit better than the Huggies diapers. The Huggies seemed overly bulky. Haven’t had any trouble with leaking either.

Keymasteranother vote for cheap diapers!! I discovered Walgreen’s brand!
If I have coupons for Pampers, then I like the baby dry kind-it might be because ari is slender, though, that these kinds work for him…??August 12, 2007 at 2:07 pm #40917Anonymous
InactiveWe prefer Pampers Cruisers although I’ve used Huggies in the past as well. Kaelyn had stages when we had to go up a size at night to keep her from wetting them through.

InactivePampers baby dry worked well for Sarah, but that was before they decided to slim them down. They always leaked for Hailey. I’m a big fan of the Kirkland brand, but since Hailey’s outgrown them and is still using diapers, I’m using Huggies with her. It’s definitely seeing which cut is best for your baby.

InactiveWell,
we use the target brand or LUvs’ for emergency only. i like the pampers too, but haven’t bought them in a while.Kendra is mostly on cloth diapers now b/c of her eczema/ diaper rash issues. She has been diaper rash free since we started using cloth. i also use a homemade wipe solution with esential oils and other good stuff in it.August 12, 2007 at 6:41 pm #40940Anonymous
InactiveWow, Leo! You should post that homemade wipe solutions for us.
Is it cheaper than store bought wipes?Do you use diaper doublers? I have a bunch of them if you want them.August 12, 2007 at 8:04 pm #40946Anonymous
InactiveChristine,
I got good ideas from this site and adjusted it to my budget
http://www.diaperjungle.com/diaper-wipes-recipes.html
I use the antifungal ones b/c kendra is taking erothymithin (sp?) and is getting a bit of yeast, but sometimes i just use water mix with cethaphil soap in a spray bottle from walmart ($1 for 16 oz one and 50c for a 8oz). It cost a bit to get all the ingredients together at first, but you can make several solutions before you run out of some of the stuff. I get all mine a the health food store. I drink some of the aloe vera mix with juice of course (it does not taste good
)my recipe is:1 cup aloe vera gel1cup distilled water1 teaspon vinegar or 2 teaspon witch hazel (found at walmart next to the alchohol)2 drops tea tree essential oil2drops lavender essential oila squirt of vitamin E oil ( i use one of my vitamin capsules to cheap out
)1 tablespoon calendula oil (i can’t find this sometimes and i skip it, but i like to use it when i find it)comfrey oil ( if i can find it)i mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar (wash a jar of spaghetti sauce really well and use that if you wish). fill you spray bottle and put the rest of the solution in the fridge.i bought one yard of cheap (on clerance at walmart) flannel, cut it in a good size square and saw two together and that’s my wipes. you can pour the solution in a wipe container and dip the wipes in it, or i just spray the flannel wipe or her bottom and clean it up. I then wash the wipes with the rest of my diapers cloth when is time to wash them (usually every other day). i use sportwash soap (found in the hunting or camping section at walmart for $4.57) it’s very concentrated, so i just need a little bit for a big load, and i use it for my regular laundry too
I can sure use diapers doublers ( iam pretty short right now).thanks. I’ll pm you my address.Beth I am sorry to steal your post

InactiveBeth, We use LUVS during the day. I was a huge pampers fan, but now LUVS have the stretch to fit sides like the Pampers cruisers, and they are cheaper too.
We had the same nighttime leaking trouble too, and right about Cooper’s age. The Huggies overnights did the trick.August 14, 2007 at 2:07 pm #41034Anonymous
InactiveI use pampers baby dry too. Brianna has super sensitve skin and they seem to do the best job keeping her dry so she doesn’t get rashes. But at night I use the overnights and love them. It is amazing to me how much those things hold!

InactiveLOL, Emily….Tell me about it. I weighed Myles once in his pajamas and diaper when he woke up in the morning and then I undressed him and weighed him again and he was five pounds less!! That’s a lot of wee-wee!

InactiveConsumer Reports tested the following diapers in order of performance on leakage prevention and design:
Pampers CruisersPampers Baby Dry with Caterpillar FlexHuggies Supreme with Natural FlexKirkland Signature (I know someone on the boards is a big fan of these)WhiteCloudHuggiesLuvsOf course, so much is personal preferance, baby bottom shape, etc. I thought you may find it interesting though!!!foleybelle2007-08-14 17:37:21

InactiveThat’s interesting. I’m a big fan of Consumer Reports! You’re rigth though, some of it has to do with baby shape and personal preference.
