Just related to general baby stuff…
1. It’s hot as heck in our apartment – the building A/C is down and
it’s in the 80s and humid. Last night we dressed Marisa in only a short
sleeve, thin onesie and luckily we have ceiling fans but it was still
hot. She was confused by sleeping in only a onesie and woke up extra
early. Do they sell lightweight pajamas without feet and short sleeve
or sleeveless? Any ideas where to look?2. We are out in the stroller a lot and Marisa will rarely keep her sun
hat on. I use lots of sunscreen but what can I use on her head/scalp? I
bought one thing called Tender Scalps yesterday but it’s a thick cream
and just sticks in the hair. Does anyone make a spray – like a Bedhead
spray or something that has sunscreen in it?Many thanks!

I think it was actually a Target brand but I know Coppertone makes a spray on as well. What I had is in an aerosol type can but it doesn’t spray like an aerosol. I have also gotten really nice light weight PJ’s at Target that are short sleeved and no feet. I am sure they would have something that would work and they usually have a variety of sizes. Hopefully you have Target where you live – They are always my lifesaver.

one in Staten Island by my in-laws so can go there this weekend –
thanks. Is that sunblock safe for scalps too? Does it make the hair really
greasy? I’d like to find one that doesn’t make her head too greasy – I
tend to give her a bath in the morning, not at night, but wouldn’t want
her sleeping in all that grease…June 14, 2006 at 9:59 am #9717AnonymousInactiveHi. Sunblock for the head is a hard thing to come by. I’m a stylist, so I speak the truth Even the ones that are professional brand tend to be greasy and heavy- well, the good ones anyway. There are other professional products with sunscreen in them, but the spf factor isn’t going to be enough protection.
The best spf professional product I’ve ever seen is by Alfa Parf. Sold in salons or on the internet somewhere I’m sure. They have a whole line of sunscreen for your hair, but one spray in particular is what you would want- Sole Mare Protective Spray. I think that’s what it’s called. I’ll have to check for sure if you want. If you mist it, it’s not so heavy. It’s got a lot of great qualities to it like aloe vera gel and vit c and something to protect from free radicals. It’s not so greasy that she’ll wake up with it on her pillow.

June 14, 2006 at 10:19 am #9724AnonymousInactiveYou can find lightweight pj’s with shorts and shirt seperates at stores like Walmart, Kmart, Meijer and Target. I just got Noah some really cute Winnie the Poo pj’s from Walmart that are really lose fitting and comfy.
June 14, 2006 at 12:12 pm #9744hellbenntKeymasterI bought ‘summertime pajamas’ as jonah calls them (he was very confused by shorts & a T-shirt for pajamas, as this is the first time ever that we’ve used them- hes in a bed, under a sheet so he doens’t need the pajamas like he did in the crib) at costco-
CARTERS brand
I love carters!

June 14, 2006 at 12:29 pm #9746AnonymousInactiveThanks Laura – I’m going to Target and Costco this weekend and in the
meantime will run over to Baby Gap this afternoon. Marisa is totally
confused by sleep seperates too – need to be one piece! She’ll nap in
two pieces for some reason though.June 14, 2006 at 12:58 pm #9748AnonymousInactiveWe got a Carter’s set too – it’s a 3 piece set that has a shirt, shorts and pants so it’s good no matter what the weather is. We thought Owen might be confused by it but he liked it. The pieces snap together too so you don’t have to worry about them riding up, etc.
June 14, 2006 at 12:58 pm #9749AnonymousInactiveSorry – I just noticed the no two piece thing. Maybe because they snap they’ll work for you?
June 14, 2006 at 1:18 pm #9752AnonymousInactiveGymboree makes a short sleeved one piece pajama. Here’s the link.

Baby gap and Old navy used to make short sleeved one piece pajamas. I don’t see them on their websites anymore but they may still have them in their retail stores. There are tons of them on EBAY. Search for OLD NAVY, BABY GAP or GYMOBOREE pajamas or gymmies. Here’s one of the many I found. (I buy most of my kid’s pajamas on ebay).

June 14, 2006 at 2:08 pm #9760AnonymousInactiveThanks Laura and Christine. I did find one pair at Baby Gap today and
will head to Target this weekend. We may try that snap combo too.June 14, 2006 at 3:19 pm #9766AnonymousInactiveWe used to use rompers during this kind of weather… walmart has ones for babies that are one piece and on the thin side. Nice to hear you guys are having some hot weather (too bad about the a/c though!).
As for the hat issue we’ve never totally been able to solve that one. Sarah loved hats until she got to the age when she could pull them off for fun, around hailey’s age now. As she got a bit older she outgrew it and now won’t leave the house without a hat, rain or shine. Hailey keeps pulling her hats off. I buy the ones with the straps that go under the chin, helps a bit but not much. Otherwise I keep the stroller hood shielding the sun. When Sarah was really small, we used to use the sunveil stroller shield. GREAT for little infants, but they’re too old for it now. Let me know if you figure something out.
June 14, 2006 at 3:35 pm #9768AnonymousInactiveI normally love summer but I just want my A/C back! Building is saying Friday at best…
I’ve tried the ones with straps too but she’s resourceful and pulls
those off as well. I do have a nice sunshade (Protect the Bub) but hate
using it because then I can’t see her in her stroller at all. Hmm…June 14, 2006 at 3:46 pm #9772AnonymousInactiveQuickly, how do you know if the sleep is being interupted from clothing? Just curious-I’ve never heard this before and wonder if sometimes maybe that’s Ian’s problem on the off night/or nap. I’ve put him in many different things to sleep since weather keeps changing but I tend to overdress him. I’m always cold and dh is always hot. I won’t even let him put air conditioner on in the bedroom anymore because of Ian and refuse fans because read they’re terrible for dust. He wore a full fledged sleeper last night with feet and everything but also woke up about 3 times..
Perhaps I’m baking my child?
K-I buy footless pj’s at gap but they’re long sleeved and seperates.
