InactiveDo you have an IParty near you? I’d bet you would find a crown there…

InactiveI remember you, Laura, as being the one who was making and swapping home-made baby food and putting the rest of us to shame!!! How scary that was almost three years ago…

InactiveSo funny guys, I also am far from being domesticated! But this year I bought only parts of the kids costumes and put them all together myself (I know, not at all close to MAKING a costume, but…)
Amanda, that is such an amazing outfit. She looks so cute.
Ann Marie, I LOVE the old navy costumes! They’re so cute, and the best part is that they’re warm enough to wear out for trick or treating.
We also don’t get many kids to our house. We live on a busy street so they don’t come our way much. But I do put out candy and the kids who come get so much each! I let Sarah have a few items the first night, and then I take one item out for the next day and we put it on the counter. Then I tell her that the Halloween fairy comes at night and takes the candy and gives it away to other children who weren’t able to go trick or treating. She believes it (at least she did last time)! We’ll see what happens this year!

InactiveKayleigh is going as JoJo she loves the hat with attached red hair! In fact she has to tell JoJo goodnight every night since she’s hanging in the closet.
As far as candy we say that the “halloween fairy” took it and she always leaves a “present” instead. Last year it was a pack of stickers not sure about this year. However she does get to eat one piece that night and we save one more for the next day but that’s it.
What an awesome costume Amanda!

InactiveEileen –
I did look on ebay, and they had a couple, but so far they’ve all had such expensive shipping for a little plastic thing
(I know, I’m cheap). The Burger King idea has crossed my mind. I thought about getting one of those & just painting it gold or something. I’ll have to look at Target …we do have one, it’s just pretty far from here so I don’t get there much. Thanks for the ideas.Ann Marie-
We have Partyland here – and I have looked there. They only had adult size crowns
They were huge!
I’ll figure something out.October 22, 2006 at 2:52 am #16345Anonymous
InactiveHeather What about using the Burger King one as a template and trace it on to foam board? Then he can decorate it as he wishes? Add some “real” jewels etc? Good Luck

InactiveThat’s a good idea too. Thanks!

InactiveWe’re in Canada so I don’t know if this applies, but crowns are pretty easy to find at any dollar store- they have paper ones in the birthday section, and then they have all kinds of them with the ballerina stuff.

InactiveYou know, I can’t believe I haven’t even looked in the dollar store. Thanks for the idea Lori.

InactiveThanks for the compliments ladies! I can’t wait for her to wear it for more than just pictures.

InactiveIsaac is going as a lion. It is the same costume that he wore last year and he still fits in it just fine so I figured why not?

InactiveAlexis’ favorite song is the Old McDonald and Taylor seems to love it too! So Alexis is going to be the Old Navy chicken, she put the costume on at the store and started to cluck and won’t take it off, the store clerk had to get another costume to scan the price! Taylor is going to be a duck, I really wanted her to be an egg but I am not very talented in the sewing department nor creative enough, I should have asked you ladies before I bought her the duck costume. DH is taking them so he is going to be a Farmer. Halloween is so much fun as the girls gets older and understands the concept of dressing up!

Inactiveok, Seth got to dress up Saturday at Gymboree and the football outfit was not a hit. He refused to wear the helmet and I have to admit the pants and shirt did not look too comfortable on him. So, I was just at Kohl’s during lunch and they already had their costumes marked down 60% so I got him an Elmo outfit for next to nothing. Hopefully, it will go over better!!! The things we do for these kiddos……
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!! Can’t wait to see all of the pics!!
