InactiveThank you I will give the Mylanta before feedings as I did find a generic brand. We don’t have a family dr. I need to get rid of our health ins as we are limited to only kaiser and I’ve been very unhappy with them. Yes, dr is on the bad list. :).
So yesterday she came down with a fever and she is very congested. I’m wondering if that has been part of her problem… Maybe she got sick from daycare and has a sore throat? I will see how she is doing in a week.

Keymastersounds like a plan! maybe you can find a family doctor on Kaiser? and you can look into the slipper elm…but it might just be she;s not feeling well and doesn’t want to eat? we always use saline – squirt it up the nose at every diaper change- no suction- let gravity do it’s thing 🙂
regular adult saline (cheaper than little noses & same exact product)

InactiveThanks for the reminder. Once her cold cleared up she went back to eating again. It took about 8 days to return to normal. She has been tolerating Similac Sensitive now as well! She still takes Prevacid and has some episodes but does NOT appear to have developed a feeding aversion. I think we got her help in time unlike my son! Thanks for everything!!!!!!!!

Keymasterwhat form of prevacid? what dose? “Marci-kids” dosing? how often do you dose? do you ever add zantac in, too?
what doctor? ped or ped GI?
thanks!

InactiveYes, Marci-Kids dose Prevacid of 21 mg ( 1 1/2 Solutabs). We tried giving different times of day and that really didn’t do much so we stuck to tablet 1 in the morning and 1/2 tablet at night followed by a bottle 30 min. later. We did add Zantac in too. I usually did that in the afternoon bottles since I was trying to space it 4 hours apart from the Zantac and I mixed the Cherry Mylanta Supreme (ended up with a RiteAid version) with the Zantac. I can’t remember how much Zantac I used but it was max dose. To be honest even with all the meds she was NOT improving until 5 weeks into the TED. At that point it was like a different baby. I continued to give her the Prevacid but eased off the Zantac and Mylanta which was fine. I was able to add just about everything into my diet with the exception of Soy, Dairy, and Wheat. Soy seemed to be the worst with her reflux. She had a ‘flare up’ after I had started introducing some formula but it was actually related to a cold. She has actually had a ‘flare up’ with each cold she has. When that happens I’ve given her more of the form mixed with cereal until it clears. This is such a terrible thing to go through – I really hope it helps others. I would absolutely recommend the TED if all else fails and to give it time. This is a wonderful forum for those who are really at their wits end! Our dr. was a Ped GI Specialist with Kaiser Permanente in northern California. He was absolutely no help and I put him on the bad doc list on this forum.
