InactiveJust wondering if any of you have experienced this with your child with reflux. Aidan has been teething ALOT lately. To the point where he is soaking bibs with drool within 15 minutes of putting them on and leaving puddles of drool on the tray of his exersaucer. With the “pleasantries” of teething, his reflux seems to be acting up more. His spitup seems to be bugging him more and making him uncomfortable on top of the fussiness from his teeth.
Have any of you noticed an increase or return of reflux symptoms while teething? If so, how did you handle it?
thanks!

InactiveYes, definitely! It seems to be a common theme around here….teething worsening reflux symptoms. Some mom’s have been advised to increase reflux meds while their baby is teething, but I’d definitely check with the doctor first.
I was fortunate that teething didn’t seem to worsen Myles’ reflux any…at least not his pain. He threw up more, but there wasn’t anything I could do about that.
Maybe some Mylanta Cherry Supreme?
Hopefully some of the other moms will have some adive for you.

InactiveYES YES and YES! I am going through the exact same thing right now! It took me about 3 days to realize that it was actually the reflux bothering Sarah and NOT the teething! I was trying everything…tylenol, benadryl, teething tablets, teething toys…you name it! THEN I finally decided to try Mylanta…and she was my angel again. Well, not exactly but it was a definite improvement. Sarah is still acting very “sensitive”. Every little thing sets her off bawling or shrieking. She’s very high strung and demanding these past few days.

We are going to the pediatrician on Tuesday for a flu shot and I’m going to go ahead and ask her Zegerid to be increased. Her weight has increased since her original dosage anyway…but with teething on top of it I really feel like she needs a little more!!
Good luck and I would definitely try mylanta and just see if there is any improvement!!!

InactiveThat sounds like Aidan too!
He is very demanding the last few days, nothing seems to make him feel better, hes crying himself to sleep. I can hear the acid coming up and then he swallows it back down and he shrieks like you would not believe.
It sucks because all this right at the time when he seemed so happy….finally sleeping through the night…….ARRGGHHHHHH
I have Mylanta handy in case we need it, so I will try that……hopefully this will help…..

p.s. Id think twice about the flu shot, especially at such a young age. The flu shot contains thimerosal which is an ethylmercury based preservative that has been implicated by unbiased science to neurodevelopmental problems like autism and ADHD. My 10 yr old son has autism and heavy metal/mercury toxicity from being exposed to mercury in his vaccines as an infant. I’ve been researching this for the last 6 yrs….If you want more info, please feel free to email me at esweeney22 at comcast.net.

thank you for the info
i didnt wabt a flu shot for my son but the doc pressured me into it.
he is very ill now and i feel like the worst mother in the world.
i sit here and wonder if i just made my son likely to be autistic.its funny because i have been asking our healthcare professionals about everything you just mentioned. they all claim that all the autism info has been disproven and its all a bunch of bologna.
whatever i dont believe them. they only get the info from pharmecutical companies, which want to make money.
how do they determine metal toxicity? is this another thing people deny exsists?

InactiveNatalia,
Please do not feel bad. Everyone puts this undeserving trust in their doctors to tell them what to do for their babies and children. You thought you were doing the right thing and being a good mom. His being sick is the fault of the doctor and the pharmaceutical companies who make the vaccines….Unfortunately most pediatricians listen to pharma reps who are in it for the $$$ and spew whatever crap the companies they work for want them to spew…..I wouldnt trust any vaccination currently out there with any of my children, myself, or my pets……
I felt so bad when I first found out my son’s autistic symptoms resulted from his vaccines but this may not even happen with you.
All childen react to vaccination, some more acutely than others. He may very well likely recover from his illness from the vaccine and be just fine. I would just keep an eye on him and try not to worry.
Please let me know how your son does…..
Youre both in my prayers…..

Inactiveim just curious, what you think about all the other routine vacs? do you not do any of them for your children? does the school system approve of that?

InactiveThanksfor the sympathy, but I am not sorry about my son…hes a wonderful handsome and charming litttle boy who has showed me, his siblings and the rest of our family just how to make lemonade from the lemons that life hands us……hes been through so much since hisdiagnosis at 2 yrs but now at 10 (today was his birthday!), hes much better…..
My son displayed behavioral symptoms at first and we treated alot of his symptoms with behavioral interventions……about 5 yrs ago, I learned about biomedical options to treat physical symptoms he has from toxic exposure to vaccines. Hes been on supplements for years which have helped him tremendously and we started chelation about a year ago for the metal toxicity and I am happy to say he went from a low functioning child with autism to a higher functioning child that can now show affection, learn, and make friends…..
If the worst happens Natalia, there are treatments out there that get them back to us……
Again, I wouldnt worry…..

InactiveI have religious exemptions to vaccination for all of my children….they fought alittle but if youre armed with knowledge, no one can fight you on this….its the law and if you choose to, you can exercise your right to an exemption.
Each state varies in exactly the types of exemptions that are available to parents…..I am a contact rep for Vaccine Liberation and can direct you to a contact person for your state if you want more info…..
As for the other routine vaccines, there are issues with them as well and I wouldnt trust any of them either……my son has enterocolotis which is an inflammation of the gut wall…..when he was biopsied, it tested positive for the strain of the measles virus found in the MMR……he has autoimmune issues and is also metal toxic for aluminum, cadmium, arsenic and lead…….
Aidan is 4 months old and is going to remain vaccine free……

Inactiveim glad your boy is better! are you getting support from medical professionals with his supplements or do yo do that all on your own?
its just so maddening that something thats supposed to help our children can really harm them. and that docs endorse them so freely, and that pharmecuetical companies are so deceiving. i dont like how all this info is being kept from parents. then when someone brings it up, they are told they are being paranoid.
im now debating what i should with all his other vacs.November 18, 2006 at 10:16 pm #18363Anonymous
Inactiveyes please i would like any info i can arm myself with. i am going to reseach this some more.
in your opinions, are there high risks with not vaccinating?November 18, 2006 at 10:18 pm #18364Anonymous
InactiveThe supplements I did on my own…the chelation is a bit trickier and is being supervised by a doctor who is like my puppet (I tell him what to order and when in regards to urine/blood tests and chelators)
If you want some good resources on the dangers of using vaccines, let me know by emailing me…..I can send you some links…..
November 18, 2006 at 10:23 pm #18365Anonymous
InactiveIn my opinion, the risks all come from vaccinating and not with not vaccinating…….most vaccines have proven to be ineffective as well…..think about all those measles outbreaks in the midwest the last few years…those kids were VACCINATED…….
I had the measles when I was a kid and I remember it as being a relatively benign illness….I had flulike symptoms, a rash, and a fever but I came out of it OK…
IF I had to choose between my child becoming autistic or having a bout of the measles or the mumps, Id choose the illness..the illness is temporary, autism is forever…..

Inactivethanks i emailed you…
what i did for his 4 month shots was spread them out, 2 that month and 2 the next month, someone mentioned that was safer, do you agree?
