while you are switching from zantac to prevacid, keep giving the zantac (4 hrs seperate from the prevacid) bcse it can take up to 2 weeks for you to see the full effects of the prevacid & without the zantac, it’s as if baby isn’t on anything at all.

I’ve already posted that I don’t like your pediatrician- he’s holding your baby’s health & happiness hostage! If you won’t stop breastfeeding and give your baby formula, then he won’t help you!

if you don’t want to stop breastfeeding, you can try medication (a good dose of prevacid) and changing your diet to see if that helps;
breastfed babies actually can go a few days w/o pooping & it’s normal, but you’re the mama!

the upper GI isn’t to diagnose reflux- it’s to look for structural abnormalities- it’s a ‘snap shot’ in time so if baby doesn’t reflux at the time of the test, that’s all it is: baby didn’t reflux at the time of the tes. that’s not to say baby doesn’t have reflux! just that baby didn’t reflux ‘on demand’…

In some ways I wish dr philips was paid by drug companies bcse he deserves it! He and his research team are the ones who are doing research about PPIs and infants. he is a pharmaceutical dr so he knows his chemicals/drugs, etc. he works with ped GIs as well to help babies w/ GERD. they developed caracream & chocobase first, but wound up selling…[Read more]

welcome! maybe a tucker sling and wedge would help keep your little guy elevated? in the meantime, try elevating where he sleeps and the changing table- our crib allowed us to put the mattress on an angle…
