there are brands that make them for babies- check the refrigerated section by the flax seed oil at whole foods

with the packets, a lot of people strain out the beads, as that’s the medicine

just make sure to space the zantac 4hrs seperate from the prevacid

there are 2 ways you can look at doses:

2) Or, start w/ what was ‘high’ 4yrs ago (& should be sufficient to start), which is 3mgs of prevacid per kilo (marci-kids is probably higher but I personally think this is a fine place to ‘start’)

.7mls is not even 3mgs if the solution says 3mgs per ml?

anyway, the way you would get it filled every 2 weeks would be for the dr to write it out this way on the prescription

the trick is to get it compounded correctly-

some have reported good effects from using small doses (it seems we all tend to push for higher doses of PPIs, lol, but when it comes to reglan sometimes smaller doses than prescribed help)

at 8.2 kilos, at a conservative, yet ‘good’ dose
of 3mgs per kilo
he can take 24.5mgs of prevacid
& he’s at 15mgs…
there’s room to increse from this, even, if you look at http://www.marci-kids.com

carafate is a great short term solution
we used it w/ jonah when his reflux was at it’s worse
it is not meant for long term use so if things don’t improve then
it’s probably time to increase the prevacid to marci-kids recommended dose (maybe he’s taking marci-kids recommended dose)

try stopping the thickening (he doesn’t need the calories from what you write) and see what happens…also try splitting the dose like beth said & also try giving zantac at 10mgs per kilo, if you have any (or tagament or pepsid or axid)…if none of this helps, then I’d try switching formula…

crying during eating to me sounds like your baby is in pain…I would push for a PPI to help heal his esophogus & help with the pain

do you nurse him also or only bottle-feed him? if you nurse him, how does that go?

Also: you will most likely want to try splitting the dose into 2 or even 3 doses given over the course fo the day, because baby’s have very fast metabolisms
