just make sure to give hte axid 2-5hrs seperate from the PPI. our ped gi said 2hrs & that’s what we did- others’ ped gis have told them up to 5hrs…

3 years ago, the more ‘conservative’ higher-dose approach was 3mgs per kilo (marci-kids was in existance, & we did get to those doses, but my ped GI considered 3mgs per kilo to be on the ‘higher’ side of dosing)

misti moon you can just take acidopholus instead of eating the dairy/yogurt- acidopholus can come in a capsule and then you don’t have to eat any dairy

PPIs aren’t FDA approved for pediartics in the states, either. There has been a lot of research done, http://www.marci-kids.com , and faxing this information to your doctor might help. I just can’t see how 1ml one times a day can do anything at all, poor baby (I mean how many mgs can be in 1ml? 5mgs?)…

Diet can affect any kind of reflux…but I don’t think it would affect spitting? Most of what I’ve read is that it can effect baby’s stools and fussiness/pain/irritablility.
The medicines won’t necessarily help with spit up, either. They are for managing pain as well so the esophogus doesn’t get damaged and can heal from all the acid.

my ped Gi said to wait 2 hrs & that’s what we did. others have reported that their ped GIs have said to wait up to 5 hrs. So…it’s up to you. It took 12 days for Jonah to get relief from the PPI, so maybe give the axid up to 2 weeks?
