Topic: Breastfeeding question???
This may seem really stupid, but does anyone know if you can bring back your milk? It hasn’t completely diminished, I still leak very occasionally. I have had a really hard time getting my milk to come in with my first and now again same problem with my son. Both my kids were premature, the difference being my son who is almost 6 weeks old has just been diagnosed with acid reflux and since I gave up on breast feeding now I feel really guilty… like I could have prevented this! I stopped before the problems started and there was so much pressure to be sure he gained weight! So if I start pumping again will it come back? Feeling terrible, please let me know. Appreciate it!
Topic: Prevacid?
I have a 7 week old girl with reflux. Tried Zantac for the last two weeks; it seemed to help but then she got really bad last 3 days–not sleeping more than 1/2 hour and spitting up everything. Ped switched to Prevacid (at our request). How long for it to kick in? Also, I am breastfeeding and occasionally supplementing with formula–Good Start. I was thinking I should also switch to soy formula as I have eliminated dairy from my diet.
Topic: Feeling Hopeless
Help I am a mother of three fantastic children. I have a 8 year old daughter and a 6 year old son both healthy. My latest addition is my daughter who is now 1 month old. She has reflux. One night she stopped breathing we went in an ambulance to the childrens hospital where we spent 3 days in ICU. My little girl has only gotten worse with her reflux since then. I finallly got a doctor to send me to a pedeatrician. My daughter also has an umbilical hernia which they will not fix until she is two years old. It was this surgon who is referring me to a pedeatrician. She spits up all day long and crys horribally, I won’y get into see this pediatrician until 4-6 weeks!!! What do I do until then I am afraid she is not gaining enough weight!! HELP! any suggestions. We are already setting her at an angle holding her upright after she eats but stll she spits up, more and more each day. I feel like no one cares or believes me. My in-laws think it is because I feed her too much. But I don’t she just has more feeds because she spits up so much ARGH what do I do. I am breast feeding so I let her eat as she likes, that is when she is not struggling to eat. I fel really hopeless.!

Please forgive my typing and spelling I am doing this with one hand the other is occupied with baby

Topic: Weight gain
Hi all,
I have been a weight watcher for Gabby since she was born. It all started with breastfeeding and worrying if she was getting enough to thrive. She was and I continued to worry worry worry until she was nine months old and almost 18lbs. She was born at 6lbs so she tripled her birth weight and this made me feel so much better.
Fast forward to her twelve month check up. She is only 19lbs 1 oz. She was 17lbs 11oz at 9 months. She dropped from 27th percentile to the 17th. She didn’t gain much at all but she started walking at 10 months so I know she’s burning a lot more calories. She is such a finicky eater. She has also dropped her six ounce bottles down to four so she’s taking the bare minimum 16 oz of formula a day. I haven’t started milk yet but will in the next few weeks. The doc is a bit concerned. I’m doing a weight check in six weeks. She did gain 2.25 inches though and is 70th percentile for height. Her head circumference also went up percentiles.
So, I’m worried, but I’m not. I’m kind of curious what your lil ones weighed in at around a year. Or if you have had some time where your lil one dropped off in growth. I’m almost glad she’s not 20lbs so people can stop askign me when I’m turning her car seat around. (I don’t plan to until at least 30 lbs) Anyways, sorry for the saga. Now, do your best to make me feel better. 😉 You guys are always good at that!
