reflux can be a roller coaster. there is silent reflux where a baby doesn’t spit up. there is also the ‘spitting up’ kind. there is also such a thing as MSPI (milk soy protein intolerance)

thrush most certainly can exacerbate the situation!
as for the mylanta, check the ingredients. the cherry supreme doesn’t contain aluminum. if what you have does have aluminum, don’ worry! just use it until you get the cherry supreme. I found ours at Walmart.

the solutabs have milk sugar, not milk protein…

you might want to give it a week or two- the reactions you describe are fairly common & a lot of babies seem to ‘adjust’ to the solutabs and do fine with them…

yes, jonah’s reflux was worse after vaccines. not for too long- just for a few days after them. the worst were the 2 month & the 4 month. after that it wasn’t so bad…

keep with the zantac for 2 weeks because until the prevacid works (can take up to 2 weeks) your baby will need the zantac. be sure to give the zantac 4hrs seperate from the prevacid

once your baby is on prevacid for 2 weeks then you can stop the zantac,

they’re the forerunners in researching dosing of PPIs for infants-
the University Of Missouri is where this all takes place-
you can even have Dr Philips from the U of M contact your dr- he does this quite a lot
I’m lucky that coincidentally my ped GI went to the U of Missouri!

he is on a vey very low dose
it’s 2mgs per 2ml
& you give 4mls, so that’s only 4mgs a day

he’s 13lbs
divide that by 2.2 to get kilos = 5.9, so let’s call that 6 kilos

at an ‘conservative’ dose (what was considered on the ‘high’ side 4 years ago), which is 3mgs per kilo,
that’s 6 x 3 =18mgs a day

if you want to continue breastfeeding & have not done the elimination diet, you might want to try it to pinpoint what, if naything that you’re eating is affecting your baby…
